we all know the haunted house reactions

so i decided to make the background of the set up for people who wanted to draw characters based off the reactions!

just thought it would make some lives easier or just add a little more of a touch if they wanted

Please just credit me or link back to this post!

Happy drawing!

hey guys, this is a bit of a warning. this can be for when you want to rant about something or when youre mentioning someone who is toxic or dangerous. i thought a lot more people knew this but it turns out they dont.

say for example i were to make this post

image

the “ ghhhhhhdzdgh” can be interchangeable. you could say that you dont think a youtuber or a tumblr user is all that great. a pretty innocent opinion that isnt tagged so no one will see it, right??

well if i post this, search  ghhhhhhdzdgh and go onto newest its a different story

image

thats right, you dont even have to tag things anymore for them to come up in searches! another lovely feature put in by tumblr which, on my old blog, lead to me getting death threats when i made an untagged post about a tumblr user, which lead to that tumblr user liking it and 3 death threats in my inbox and one person saying they knew where i lived and they would get me on my morning commute. pretty dangerous stuff, right?

thats not all, even when you put slashes in the word it turns up

image

but if you put dashes it luckily doesnt

image

so the reason for this post??? if youre making a personal post without tagging about someone else slashes wont keep you safe from some really sad people who want to make others feel bad from finding it, put dashes instead and it wont come up in the search. its a shame that people have to do their best to stay safe on their own private blogs but we’ve already worked out tumblr doesnt give a shit. this though should hopefully help that little bit more

For Windows.

My friends and I occasionally have this problem so I’ve taught them this simple method that takes less than a minute as opposed to waiting several for your computer to restart(especially if it’s slow).

What’s great about this method is that sometimes restarting your computer wont fix the problem, but this usually will.

MAKE SURE YOU CLOSE ALL YOUR ART APPS.

This is important, otherwise the changes wont take effect. If it doesn’t work the first time, try again, sometimes it takes restarting it more than once.

For Windows 8, search for “services.msc” in your apps and click on the result. Continue from there!

Now go draw, babies!

Very helpful! This works whenever my tablet is having any problems at all. It’s very simple and very effective!

Beyond this, consider how these professions might vary depending on who the customers are - nobles, or lower class. Are they good at their job or just scraping by? Do they work with lots of other people or on their own? City or village?

For younger characters:

  • Apprentice to any of the above
  • Messenger/runner
  • Page/squire
  • Pickpocket
  • Shop assistant
  • Student
  • Looks after younger siblings

(Images all from Wikimedia Commons)

Also consider:

Candlemaker
Ferryman
Factor (looks after business for an employer in another city)
Tiler
Cutler
Beekeeper
Apothecary
Interpreter
Furrier
Moneylender/Banker
Winemaker
Tinker (small trader who repairs stuff)
Nightsoil collector
Customs officer

Also a bonus for animal related professions:
Fowler (supplies game birds for eating)
Warrener (catches rabbits on your land for you to eat)
Ostler (looks after your horses)
Falconer (looks after your falcons)
Cocker (looks after your fighting cocks)

A quick guide for the anon who asked how I got the effects in my previous drawing. It is probably filled with spelling and grammar mistakes, I am sorry about that! Also trying out the font I made today. So far I like it C:

I hope this awnsers your question on how I did it, anon!
