I really dislike the condescending way some people treat the people who complain about the FE14 localization. Like, they act as if they’re better because they care about the “important” things while acting that the people who complain only care about “insignificant” things.

Okay, some people do freak out over nothing, but there are actual, significant changes that were made, and disliking those changes is a completely valid opinion.

Like Shara (or Rhajat). There’s the fact that now, her F!Kamui’s support is now the same as the male one, when many found her female one to be much sweeter. The change isn’t just limited to her Kamui supports, though. I remember there being some differences in her Grey and Shigure supports as well. They’ve really amped up the creepy stalker aspect of her personality while downplaying the nicer and sweeter aspects of her personality.

There’s also Hinoka, whom they really tried to shove her into being the rough tomboy, like the Sully type of character, which she is so not.

Honestly, trying to fit the characters in a type and exaggerating certain qualities for comedic purposes is a theme in the localization. This takes out the depth of the characters, and makes them seem more like one-note archetypes than actual, fleshed-out characters.

There’s also the whole thing with them trying to take out the sexism from the game, despite it being relevant to some characters’ personalities and motivations, like Yuugiri and Hinoka. Listen, I personally dislike having sexism in fictional universes, but if it already exists, then taking it out will only detract from said characters.

The changes they made to Kanna’s S support also feel incredibly awkward. Like, the way they keep repeating “friends” and everything makes it seem really forced.

There’s a lot more, but I think this gives a general idea of what I’m talking about. You can like the localization, that’s perfectly fine, but what I’m trying to say here is that there are legitimate reasons people don’t like it, so why don’t you drop that self-superior attitude and respect other people’s opinions?
