Considering the much worse cases in FE history *cough* Genealogy, Sacred Stones*Cough* I really don’t see the problem with Azura/Corrin

Okay, I don’t really like adding comments to posts like these, but I just wanted to say that Genealogy/FE4 totally did not have it worse (depending on how you define “worse” in relation to incest, I suppose). 

The incestuous couple in FE4 (Arvis x Deirdre) was the result of literal brainwashing of Deirdre, manipulation of Arvis, and was set up so their child would have the correct bloodline to resurrect an evil god by the antagonist, Manfroy. Additionally, the formation of this couple destroyed another (non-incestuous) couple, and eventually led to the deaths of both people in said couple. It was brainwashing, manipulation, and eugenics. None of that was ever portrayed in a positive light. The players were meant to hate this incestuous pairing, not support it. Corrin x Azura on the other hand, was meant for the players to like and enjoy.

So basically, FE4 depicts many terrible events as a result of incest, while FE14 essentially says “it’s okay to marry your family because it’s cute”. FE4 said it was bad, and FE14 said it was okay. That’s why FE4 didn’t have it worse, in my opinion. Also FE8 didn’t have incest at all (unless you really want to push for it with Ephraim and Eirika, but that’s simply not canon).
